An agricultural exchange is a mutually enriching opportunity. For the international trainees and interns who come ready to grow with your business and for hosts ready to share their knowledge and community with visitors from other countries.

Worldwide Farmers Exchange (WFE) is designed to promote two-way learning, finding international candidates who bring their own experience in your field in order to share skills and create lasting connections.

WFE matches qualified and motivated candidates with the needs of our general agriculture and wine hosts. We have earned a reputation for comprehensive services, streamlined processing, and personalized support, ensuring each exchange fulfills our nonprofit’s mission.

All intern/trainee candidates are required to be 18-30 years old, with intermediate or better English skills, and education and/or 5+ years of work experience in the chosen field.

Host Requirements

General Agriculture

Up to 12-month commitment*
Submit a placement plan with relevant training and cultural experience opportunities
Provide housing for intern/trainee
Offer transportation to local destinations (store, bank, hospital, social security office, etc.)
Guarantee phone and/or internet access
Provide $600/month in program fees and a minimum $1,400 in salary to participants as a stipend. Stipends can be paid directly to participants through payroll or through WFE.

Wine

3-4-month program in most cases
Provide a detailed placement offer including rate of pay and relevant training and cultural opportunities
Help the participant find local housing
Inform participants on local destinations (store, bank, hospital, social security office, etc.)

* WFE cannot extend J-1 visas beyond 12 months
